Located in the Hamilton Park Historic District in Downtown Jersey City, this condo unit required a much needed upgrade to hit the rental market and yield the strongest return possible. To complete this minor renovation, the kitchen was fully redone and the master bath received a partial upgrade. With no design direction in mind, the owner entrusted the Dixon Projects team to bring this space to life through sensible additions and contemporary finishes throughout.
Elated by the end result, the owner brought back Dixon Projects to replace the unit’s washer and dryer, a quick process which was completed in just one day.
With budget in mind, the layout for the kitchen remained; however, everything else was replaced, including appliances, countertops, lighting and cabinetry. The modern, high gloss cabinetry installed was complemented by a polished white tile backsplash, which stretches across the length of the kitchen. Concrete gray quartz countertops seamlessly mesh with the new stainless steel appliances to complete a soft, neutral feel.
The new countertops give way to a convenient breakfast bar, easily accessed through the home’s open concept design. The surrounding walls, originally finished in a dated yellow color, were revamped through the use of a bright white instead. The existing hardwood floors were then stripped and refinished for an added touch of character. Chrome-finished ceilings lights and pendants complete this upgraded space.
The master bath also received a modern upgrade. While the existing vanity and toilet remained, the dated tile and uninviting wall colors were removed to give way for new floor-to-ceiling tile in a dark gray color. The tub/shower combo was then replaced by a half glass pane shower with bench seating for optimal convenience.
Originally a glum condo unit in need of some TLC, the Dixon Projects team was able to optimize this space to add value for the owner and amenity for future tenants.
